The three doshas (body humours) like Vatha , Pitha & Kapha are formed by a combination of two, out of the five universal elements, earth, water, wind, fire, and space. Every being is born with a unique balance of Tridoshas and diseases occur when the balance of the Tridoshas is lost. Ayurveda treatments focus on balancing the Tridoshas.

Vamanam
Vamana Karma, renowned as medical emesis or medical vomiting is used in treating Kapha disorders. The Kapha toxins collected in the body are cleansed and the respiratory tract decongested. It works as preventive as well as curative therapy while releasing the built up toxins produced due to Kapha dosha imbalance. It is used in treatment of diseases like Bronchial Asthma, Chronic Allergies, Vitiligo, Psoriasis, Hyperacidity, Chronic Indigestion Nasal Congestion, Oedema, Obesity, Psychological disorders, Skin disorders etc.
Virechanam
Controlled purgation is done for a specific amount of time to flush out body toxins in Virechana by administering purgatory oils or other Lehyams as a treatment for skin disorders, Urinary tract disorders, Goitre, tumour, fibroid, Elephantiasis, Filariasis, Schizophrenia, cough, cold, chronic respiratory tract disease, Asthma, Nausea, Herpes Blisters, Abscess, Liver disorders etc.
Nasyam
Nasyam cleanses and soothes the nasal passages and gives relief. Herbal juices, medicated oils etc. are applied through the nose for 7 to 14 days and this treatment is highly effective for headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, migraine and some types of skin diseases etc.
Basti or Vasti
Certain herbal oils, herbal extracts etc. are applied through the rectum daily for a period of 5 to 25 days in Vasti. This treatment is done for Arthritis, Paralysis, Hemiplegia, numbness, gastric complaints associated with Rheumatism and chronic constipation.
Rakthamokshana
Rakthamokshana involves bloodletting and is administered to treat disorders pertaining to skin like Urticaria, Rash, Eczema, Acne, Scabies, Leucoderma and Chronic Itching. It is an effective, safe, painless and highly effective form of Panchakarma treatment and uses Leeches for removing impure blood inducing local detoxification.
